Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:
The genus name is a combination of the words Crosso and perla. The term ‘‘Crosso” denotes the presence of additional crossveins, and ‘‘perla” is derived from the stonefly genus Perla Geoffroy, 1762, commonly used as a suffix in genus names within the Plecoptera.
